Ottawa Gatineau International Auto Show
Most car enthusiasts look to Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal to see an array of exotic and modified cars… Whether it be on the streets, at car meets or at organized, sponsored shows.
However, car fans in the Ottawa valley got the chance to check out the Ottawa-Gatineau International Auto Show, which took place from March 16 to 19 and brought thousands of people to check out some cars they may only see again in bigger cities.
All of the latest designs and new technology were on display for potential buyers or passionate car fans to have a look. This was a great chance for Ottawa automotive fans to meet up and see many nice cars, or even to turn someone into a car fan!
This year there were over 300 vehicles spread across four floors from brands like Audi, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar, Infiniti, Dodge, and Chevrolet, which showcased most of it’s family-friendly vehicles. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Rolls-Royce were also on display for those seeking a more acquired and expensive taste!
Special exhibits such as the Calabogie Motorsports room held many racecars including a 911 GT3 Cupcar. Most cars were available to sit in which gave potential customers a chance to explore the features and comforts of a potential future purchase, or maybe it just gave some people a chance to sit in supercars. Calabogies exhibit was a great sell to anyone interested in renting one of their cars for race days this coming summer.
In conclusion, the Ottawa-Gatineau International Auto Show is an excellent way to see and experience some amazing cars after such a long and “car-less” winter. I think most Ottawa car fans can’t wait for next years show! Perhaps when that time comes around, there may be some hypercars on display. Koenigsegg, anyone?
Ottawa may not be a big city like Vancouver or Toronto, but after seeing what’s in store from the show, it’s safe to say we’re in for some real eye-candy.
